Stanford Health Care debuts new neuroscience health center: 3 things to know

Stanford (Calif.) Health Care officially opened its new neuroscience health center Dec. 10 in Palo Alto, Calif., with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Here are three things to know about the Stanford Neuroscience Health Center.

1. The center is a certified National Institutes of Health Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.

2. It delivers integrated outpatient services in neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology and related services.

3. Specifically, the center offers 21 neuroscience subspecialties, imaging equipment, a wellness center and an outdoor mobility garden for patients re-learning how to walk. It includes an autonomic lab with one of the first clinical care thermoregulatory sweats labs in the nation and the first dedicated clinical PET/MRI.
