Private equity pushes into healthcare: 8 latest deals

There were more than 700 private equity deals in the healthcare industry in 2018, and the healthcare sector continues to draw private equity investors.

Here are eight private equity deals announced in the past month:

1. Angeles Equity Partners acquired Mini Pharmacy Enterprises, a Los Angeles-based pharmacy specializing in providing diabetic supplies.

2. Sheridan Capital Partners invested in Atlantic Vision Partners, a Richmond, Va.-based optometry and ophthalmology practice management company.

3. Nordic Capital acquired ArisGlobal, a Coral Gables, Fla.-based healthcare software company.

4. WindRose Health Investors completed the recapitalization of Ovation Fertility, a Los Angeles-based national network of reproductive health clinics.

5. Water's Edge Dermatology, a portfolio company of Gryphon Investors, acquired a controlling interest in Jupiter, Fla.-based Aqua Plastic Surgery.

6. Cortec Group recapitalized Aspen Medical Products, an Irvine, Calif.-based manufacturer of spinal orthopedic braces.

7. Thomas H. Lee Partners acquired Nextech Systems, a Tampa, Fla.-based provider of healthcare technology solutions for specialty providers.

8. Genstar Capital acquired Advarra, a Columbia, Md.-based provider of compliance solutions for drug development.
