Private equity pushes into healthcare: 6 latest deals

Healthcare-related private equity activity broke records in 2017, and the healthcare sector continues to draw private equity investors.

Here are six private equity deals announced in the past three weeks:

1. Clearlake Capital Group entered a definitive agreement to acquire Symplr, a healthcare governance, risk and compliance, software-as-a-service platform.

2. NexPhase Capital recapitalized Action Behavior Centers, a provider of applied behavior analysis therapy services.

3. Clearlake Capital Group invested in OnShift, a cloud-based human capital management software provider for the long-term post-acute care market.

4. Sheridan Capital Partners invested in Empower Physical Therapy, a physical therapy practice management company.

5. PWP Growth Equity invested in Quick Med Claims, a provider of revenue cycle management services for the emergency medical transport industry.

6. Veritas Capital and Elliott Management agreed to buy athenahealth, a healthcare software company.
