The project includes expanding the number of operating rooms from six to eight, adding roughly 1,500 square feet altogether. The two new operating rooms will be able to accommodate new equipment for minimally invasive surgeries and more orthopedic surgeries.
As part of the construction project, Fish Memorial is also adding a mammography suite inside the surgical services department for biopsies and renovating a waiting room area for the family members of surgical patients.
Construction is slated to complete in August 2015.
