Evanston, Ill.-based NorthShore University HealthSystem saw net income drop in the third quarter of fiscal year 2018 after reporting a nonoperating loss and losses on investments, according to unaudited interim statements.

The four-hospital nonprofit system reported net income of $35.1 million in the three months ended June 30, down from $56.2 million in the same period a year prior.

NorthShore posted revenues of $530.5 million in the third quarter of fiscal year 2018, up from $514.5 million in the same period a year prior. An uptick in patient net and premium revenues contributed to the increases.

NorthShore ended the third quarter of this year with operating income of $36.7 million, more than double the $16.9 million in operating income the system posted in the same quarter last year.
