Microsoft, Adobe and Change Healthcare collaborate for consumer engagement: 4 things to know

Change Healthcare, Adobe and Microsoft are coming together to help providers improve the patient experience.

Here are four things to know about the newly formed alliance, which was announced at the HLTH 2018 conference this month.

1. The three involved parties will develop a joint patient engagement solution, according to a news release. The solution will be created by using Change Healthcare Intelligent Healthcare Network, Adobe Experience Cloud and Microsoft Azure.

2. Change Healthcare, Adobe and Microsoft anticipate the solution will use consumer data from healthcare IT sources such as EHRs, registration, scheduling and billing, among other applications.

3. Ultimately, the solution will be available to providers to use in their revenue cycle and patient relationship management initiatives, the release states. For instance, providers could use the solution to help with multichannel patient engagement campaigns, or to help develop and manage content.

4. Neil de Crescenzo, president and CEO of Change Healthcare, said of the cross industry alliance: "Bolting transactional features onto portals can't provide the frictionless, end-to-end experience consumers want. That ideal can be met only when providers can infuse and orchestrate intelligence into touchpoints across healthcare's administrative, clinical and financial continuum. This alliance aims to merge the finest consumer capabilities with unrivaled healthcare data, AI-enhanced workflows, and operational expertise."
