LSU Health Shreveport Faces $25.6M Budget Shortfall

LSU Health Shreveport (La.) is working on a plan to reduce expenses and increase revenue as it faces a $25.6-million budget shortfall, according to a Shreveport Times report.

Currently, layoffs are not part of the LSU Health Shreveport plan, but the health system does expect to cut more than $2 million from its medical school, according to the report.

Other cost-savings measures being considered include group purchasing of hospital supplies that could save $500,000 and new contracts for food and radiology services that could save more than $530,000 combined.
