Kindred to close Ohio hospital, lay off 111 employees

Ayla Ellison -

Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred Healthcare will close Kindred Hospital Central Ohio in Marshfield by Sept. 30, according to NBC4i.

According to documents filed with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the closure will result in 111 layoffs.

Kindred said the decision not to renew the lease for the hospital was part of the company's strategic plan to consolidate its long-term acute care services in Ohio. Kindred will continue to operate Kindred Hospital Dayton (Ohio) and Kindred Hospital Lima (Ohio) after the Marshfield facility closes, according to the report.
