Georgia boy opens lemonade stand to pay for medical bills

A Georgia boy who was hit by a car while riding his bike is running a lemonade stand to help pay for his medical bills, Fox 5 reported Aug. 1.

The boy, 11-year-old Teddy Counihan, of Locust Grove, Ga., suffered a skull fracture, broken tibia and broken fibula in the crash, according to the report.

"We needed to make up an idea to raise money for the hospital bills," he told the news outlet.

His mother died in October, "so times are tough right now," the boy's father said on a GoFundMe page that had raised more than $12,000 of its $20,000 goal as of Aug. 2.
