For-profit hospital stock report: Week of May 8-12

All five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the largest increase in share price at 5.6 percent.

King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services saw its share price rise 0.2 percent, the least of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Here is how the five operators stacked up.                                          

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $10.16 per share (up 5.6 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $84.61 per share (up 1.3 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $62.38 per share (up 0.3 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $18.08 per share (up 1.1 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $122.29 per share (up 0.2 percent)
