For-profit hospital stock report: Week of March 12-16

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest decrease in share price at 10.9 percent.

Here is how the five operators stacked up as of March 16.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $4.34 per share (down 10.9 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $102.75 per share (down 1.1 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $51.10 per share (up 5.5 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $24.63 per share (up 1.8 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $123.50 per share (down 2.5 percent)
