For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Dec. 26-29

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices rise last week.

Among the major for-profit hospital operators, Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems saw the greatest increase in share price at 5.4 percent.

Here is how the five operators stacked up as of Dec. 29.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $4.26 per share (up 5.4 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $87.84 per share (down 1.4 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $49.80 per share (up 1.6 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $15.16 per share (up 0.2 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $113.35 per share (down 1.5 percent)
