For-profit hospital stock report: Week of Aug. 20-24

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare saw the greatest decrease in share price, 6.2 percent.

Here's how the five operators stacked up as of Aug. 24:

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $3.56 per share (up 4.4 percent)
  • HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): $131.36 per share (down 0.2 percent)
  • LifePoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): $64.35 per share (down 0.2 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare (Dallas): $31.88 per share (down 6.2 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $128.10 per share (up 0.2 percent)
