The Delaware Healthcare Association released its biannual community benefits report, revealing hospitals across the state had spent a combined $978 million on community benefits during the 2020 fiscal year.
The community benefit spending included funding for charity care, debt, government-sponsored health insurance losses and community programs.
The report evaluates public health and economic benefits the state receives from Delaware hospitals and health systems.
