Dana-Farber philanthropy chief steps down, boosted yearly fundraising from $30M to $300M

Susan S. Paresky is stepping down as senior vice president of development for the Boston-based Dana-Farber Cancer Institute after 21 years with the organization, according to The Boston Globe.

Under her leadership, the hospital went from raising $30 million per year to nearly $300 million. The hospital is in the midst of a multiyear $2 billion fundraising effort.

"We hear from our grateful patients all the time," Ms. Paresky told The Globe. "They are our best ambassadors."

Ms. Paresky said she plans to spend some time off with friends and family before taking a new job. She will be replaced by Melany Duval of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
