Covenant Health revenue cycle outsourcing to affect 136 employees at Maine, New Hampshire hospitals

Tewksbury, Mass.-based Covenant Health, a Catholic network with locations in six Northeastern states, is outsourcing revenue cycle functions to Ensemble Health Partners, according to the Bangor Daily News.

The announcement affects 136 workers at Bangor, Maine-based St. Joseph Healthcare; Nashua, N.H.-based St. Joseph Hospital; and Lewiston, Maine-based St. Mary's Hospital.

Ensemble is a Mason, Ohio-based revenue cycle management provider with 4,600 employees and 28 clients serving facilities in 38 states and two countries.

Under the agreement with Covenant, Ensemble said the company will be on site at Covenant facilities conducting interviews and providing job opportunities for the 136 employees affected in Maine and New Hampshire.

"Now, more than ever, it is essential that we work efficiently and effectively to ensure a positive patient experience throughout every point of the care process," Covenant Health President and CEO Stephen Grubbs said in a news release. "The Ensemble team brings industry expertise to the daily work of recognizing and collecting revenue — and freeing resources to support care delivery. This partnership will help us establish an efficient, integrated and aligned revenue cycle that delivers best practice services."
