While the health system proposed a $283 million spending plan, Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle proposed a 2012 spending budget that would provide $248 million to Cook County Health.

County commissioners are expected to meet today to discuss the budget proposals, at which time Cook County health physicians plan to submit a letter that states the health system’s facilities are already at capacity and cannot endure any more cuts. The letter has been signed by more than 250 individuals.
