Consumer-facing app combs medical bills for mistakes

MedBill-IQ has launched an app through which consumers can upload their medical bills for review by a licensed healthcare professional.

The company aims to help patients reduce their medical payments by finding inaccuracies in hospital or physician coding or billing. MedBill-IQ representatives identify expenses patients can appeal or negotiate with hospital employees.

The app is free. Users are charge 30 percent on the amount of money saved through  MedBill-IQ's services.
