Colorado’s current Medicaid beneficiary total is 57.7 percent higher than it was in Jan. 2007.

Sue Birch, director of Colorado’s Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, said in the report it’s unlikely the numbers will decline over the next few years due to population growth. The DHCPF anticipates a continued growing Medicaid caseload in the next 18 to 24 months.
