Colorado hospital unveils new brand after 5 years of planning, saving

Hannah Mitchell -

Montrose (Colorado) Memorial Hospital unveiled its new name and logo after five years of planning for the rebrand, Montrose Press reported Oct. 22.

Five things to know:

  1. Montrose Memorial Hospital's new name is Montrose Regional Health. CEO Jeff Mengenhausen said the rebrand better represents the hospital's scope of services.

  2. The hospital formed a rebrand committee in 2016. The rebranding expenses were estimated to be $75,000. The hospital budgeted for the rebrand for years, said Brad Wiersma, marketing director at the hospital.

  3. The rebrand will also come with a new website and web address. The old web address automatically redirects to the new site.

  4. The hospital formerly was managed by Quorum Health. The hospital's board voted to end its contract with Quorum and entered into a new one with Community Hospital effective Jan. 1, 2021.

  5. "As our communities grow and our region grows and as our caregivers grow, we need to grow with it," Mr. Mengenhausen said at an Oct. 22 reveal. "We’re taking care of not just Montrose, but Ridgway, Ouray, Gunnison, Delta, Norwood, Telluride. And so the logo and the brand and our name is a way of telling our story. So we’ve got to tell the right story. As we grow and develop in our communities and serve our patients, that’s what we want."
