Collaborative Health Systems, one of the largest multistate accountable care organization operators, named Brian Steele, MD, as its first CMO.
In the role, Dr. Steele will help providers transition to value-based care, according to a Jan. 10 news release shared with Becker's.
"As a physician and business leader who brings with him more than two decades of clinical expertise and experience working in value-based healthcare, he will help CHS and our provider partners in our goals to transform the healthcare system by providing higher quality care at lower costs," said Anthony Valdés, president of Collaborative Health Systems.
Prior to joining Collaborative Health Systems, Dr. Steele served Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield as its vice president of medical affairs — clinical services. He has also consulted digital health startups and innovative health plans, according to the news release.
