CMS Proposes 1.3% Hospice Pay Rate Increase

CMS has released a proposed rule that would increase hospice payments by 1.3 percent, or $230 million, in fiscal year 2015.

moneyThe proposed rule continues the phase out of the wage index budget neutrality adjustment factor, marking the sixth year of CMS' seven-year process of eliminating the adjustment factor. The rule also includes suggested coordination and appeals processes concerning Medicare Part D drug payments for beneficiaries in hospice, and it asks for comments on the definitions of "terminal illness" and "related conditions."

For more information, read the full rule here.
