The California Victim Compensation Board is offering help to state residents affected by Sunday's mass shooting at a country music festival in Las Vegas.
"Help is available for survivors of those who were killed, anyone who was injured and those in attendance at the concert, as well as their immediate family members," according to a statement from CalVCB. The board said it "can help pay for funeral expenses, medical bills, mental health treatment, lost wages and more."
CalVCB said it also can help victims and their families apply to the California Victim Compensation Program and the Nevada Victim Compensation Program.
"Survivors and family members are encouraged to apply now, regardless of whether or not expenses have been incurred," the board added.
CalVCB Executive Director Julie Nauman told the Los Angeles Times monetary help in the California program for each victim is limited to $70,000.
