California hospital's new CFO touted for revenue cycle and billing experience

Kelly Gooch -

Mendocino Coast District Hospital in Fort Bragg, Calif., hired Mike Ellis as permanent CFO April 6, according to a Mendocino Beacon report.

Mr. Ellis is slated to begin the job April 10 and has an array of healthcare finance experience, including serving as a hospital CFO, according to Bob Edwards, CEO of MCDH.

"The good thing about Mike is his experience in revenue cycle and billing," Mr. Edwards said in the report, which notes those are areas the hospital seeks to improve.

Mr. Ellis was named CFO of Gardnerville, Nevada-based Carson Valley Medical Center in March 2017. Prior to that, he served as CFO of Wickenberg [Ariz.] Community Hospital.

MCDH hired Mr. Ellis after the hospital ended its contract with interim CFO John Parigi.
