CMS announced the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Advanced model in January, and the application date for the voluntary bundled payment model is fast approaching.
Here are seven key dates and deadlines to remember for BPCI Advanced.
March 12, 2018: Applications to participate in BPCI Advanced are due to CMS. Access the BPCI Advanced Application Portal here.
May 2018: CMS distributes target prices to applicants.
June 2018: CMS offers participant agreements to applicants.
August 2018: Signed participant agreements are due to CMS.
Oct. 1, 2018: The first cohort of providers will start participation in BPCI Advanced. Providers selected to participate in BPCI Advanced beginning Oct. 1 must be held accountable for at least one clinical episode and may not add or drop clinical episodes until Jan. 1, 2020.
Jan. 1, 2020: Deadline for the second opportunity for providers to apply for BPCI Advanced.
Dec. 31, 2023: First BPCI Advanced performance period ends.
