Baylor Scott & White's annual operating income rises 25%

Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health saw revenue and operating income rise in fiscal year 2019.

The health system's operating revenue climbed 6 percent year over year to $10.05 billion in the fiscal year ended June 30, according to audited financial documents. Net patient service revenue and premium revenue were up year over year.

After factoring in a 4.9 percent year-over-year increase in operating expenses, Baylor Scott & White ended fiscal 2019 with operating income of $725 million. That's up 25 percent from fiscal 2018, when the health system reported operating income of $582 million.

Baylor Scott & White saw nonoperating revenue decline year over year, and the health system ended fiscal 2019 with net income of $849 million, compared to $840 million in the year prior.
