A local bank is suing Lauderdale Community Hospital in Ripley, Tenn., which is owned by Kansas City, Mo.-based EmpowerHMS, to recoup loan payments, according to Local Memphis.

In its federal lawsuit, Stone Bank is suing for more than $2 million in unpaid loans. The bank is also requesting the judge remove the hospital's current leadership, take possession of the building and appoint someone to oversee the hospital's operations, according to the report.

Lauderdale Community Hospital's emergency room shut down on Feb. 15 after no physicians showed up for work due to not being paid. The hospital's ER is closed until further notice.
