Adventist seeking $27M from PG&E for damage caused by 2018 wildfire

Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health is seeking $27 million from Pacific Gas & Electric for the damage to one of its facilities caused by last year's Camp Fire, according to The Sacramento Business Journal.

The ground floor offices of Paradise, Calif.-based Adventist Health Feather River Hospital were destroyed and its water and infrastructure systems were damaged by the November 2018 wildfire, California's deadliest.

In May, fire investigators concluded that PG&E's transmission lines started the fire.

Now, the nonprofit health system is seeking $27 million in damages from PG&E.

The system is awaiting a hearing on Dec. 17 to decide whether the amount will be accepted in bankruptcy court. PG&E is working through a Chapter 11 proceeding.

The Paradise hospital remains closed, although Adventist has restored primary and specialty care, behavioral health and lab and pharmacy services in the area.
