6 hospitals receive credit downgrades in past month

Six hospitals and health systems received a credit downgrade during the past month, according to a report from HFA Partners.

The hospitals and health systems receiving credit downgrades included the following:

  • Baptist Health South Florida (Coral Gables) — from AA to AA- (S&P)
  • Catholic Health Initiatives (Englewood, Colo.) — from A2 to A3 (Moody's); from A to A- (S&P)
  • East Jefferson General Hospital (Metairie, La.) — from Ba2 to Ba3 (Moody's)
  • Memorial Hospital at Gulfport (Miss.) — from A to BBB (Fitch)
  • Mercy Alliance (Janesville, Wis.) — from A2 to A3 (Moody's)
  • South Georgia Medical Center (Valdosta) — from A to A- (S&P)
