6 hospital CFOs in the headlines

Here are five hospital and health system CFOs who have been in the news since Aug. 14.

1. Derick Lorentz was in the news as he was named CFO of Grant, Neb.-based Perkins County Health Services.

2. Hanover (Pa.) Hospital CFO Michael Gaskins was in the news as the hospital announced he will be taking over as CEO.

3. Jim Berend was in the news as he was named executive vice president and CFO of USMD Health System, a physician-led integrated healthcare system in Irving, Texas.

4. Brenda Qualls, CFO of Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, Ga., was in the news as she announced her resignation.

5. John Doyle was in the news as he was hired by King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services as a new CFO to oversee nine Texas medical facilities.

6. Mark Larmore was in the news as The Ohio State University appointed him CFO of its Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
