CMS published preliminary disproportionate share hospital allotments for fiscal year 2018, with a planned increase of about $288 million over fiscal year 2017.
Federal fiscal year DSH allotments are the most the federal government will give each state for DSH payments to its hospitals. The ACA DSH payment reduction was postponed until 2020, so the preliminary 2018 DSH allotments do not include the ACA reduction.
