The following is a list of 17 states and the companies they have awarded with their Medicaid RAC contract, which will go into effect Jan. 1, 2012:

•    Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, South Carolina and Tennessee have chosen HMS.
•    Colorado, Ohio and Pennsylvania have chosen CGI.
•    Arizona has chosen Recovery Audit Specialists.
•    Indiana has chosen Thomson Reuters.
•    Mississippi has chosen PRGX.
•    North Dakota has chosen Cognosante.
•    New Hampshire has chosen Good Health Systems.
•    Kansas has chosen HDI.

Correction: A previous version of this story indicated that Michigan had chosen HMS as its Medicaid RAC. However, Michigan has not yet confirmed a Medicaid RAC contract. Becker’s Hospital Review regrets this error.
