Numerous healthcare organizations recently received donations to fund research, advance treatments, improve patient care and start renovations.

Here are 15 recent donations, grants or gifts given to healthcare organizations by various entities in the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Hyundai Hope on Wheels awards Levine Cancer Institute $50k for pediatric cancer
Charlotte, N.C.-based Levine Cancer Institute will receive a $50,000 Hyundai Impact Award for pediatric oncology excellence from the Hyundai Hope On Wheels Organization.

2. Christus Health Northern Louisiana donates Schumpert Hospital campus
Shreveport-based Christus Health Northern Louisiana donated their Shreveport, La.-based Schumpert Hospital campus to a nonprofit group that supports Louisiana State University Health Shreveport's mission of education, patient care and research.

 3. $1.6M NIH grant to support postdoctoral training at Medical College of Wisconsin's Cardiovascular Center
The Milwaukee-based Medical College of Wisconsin's Cardiovascular Center received a $1.6 million grant from the NIH to support a new postdoctoral training program. 

4. Research institute at Arkansas Children's Hospital receives $11.5M NIH grant
The research institute at Little Rock-based Arkansas Children's Hospital received an $11.5 million grant from the NIH to establish the Center for Translational Pediatric Research, according to Arkansas Online.  

5. HRSA awards University of Buffalo School of Nursing $2.4M to expand mental health treatment
The Health Resources and Services Administration awarded the University of Buffalo (N.Y.) School of Nursing three grants totaling $2.4 million to expand mental health treatment in American Indian communities.  

6. Tulane University researcher receives $12M NIH grant to develop vaccine against Lassa fever
A researcher at New Orleans-based Tulane University received over $12M in grants from the NIH to develop a vaccine to combat Lassa fever, a deadly disease epidemic in West Africa, according to News Medical. 

7. IU School of Medicine receives $25M grant
Indianapolis-based Indiana University School of Medicine received a $25 million grant from Lilly Endowment to advance life sciences research and attract leading researchers to the state, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal. 

8. Healthcare Georgia Foundation awards $770k to advance rural healthcare equity
The Healthcare Georgia Foundation awarded $770,000 in grants to 11 community health partnerships to expand access to quality healthcare and achieve health equity among rural residents, according to the Post Searchlight.  

9. North Valley Hospital receives $150k to update mammogram technology
Whitefish, Mont.-based North Valley Hospital received a $150,000 donation from a local family to help update the hospital's breast screening technology, according to the Daily Interlake. 

10. W.Va clinic receives $2M grant
Beckley, W.Va.-based Community Health Systems received a $2 million grant to enhance rural care in the state, according to the Register Herald. 

11. Marin General Hospital receives $10M donation, largest in hospital's history
Kentfield, Calif.-based Marin General Hospital received a $10 million donation from an anonymous family foundation in Marin County to help fund a new wing of the hospital and parking garage, according to Marin Independent Journal. 

12. NIH awards Maine Medical Center $20M research grant
Portland-based Maine Medical Center and its partners, Burlington-based University of Vermont and University of Southern Maine in Portland, received $20 million in research funding from the NIH to establish a research network to improve human health, according to BioSpectrum.  

13. Johns Hopkins School of Nursing receives $3M in grants
The Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins School of Nursing received three Nurse Support Program grants totaling $3 million to expand educational opportunities.  

 14. Indiana Graduate Medical Education Board allocates $2.5M to ease physician shortage
The Indiana Graduate Medical Education Board awarded $2.5 million to various medical schools and health systems to develop residency programs or establish feasibility studies to offset the state's looming shortage of physicians in primary care, according to the Indianapolis Business Journal. 

15. Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital receives $1M gift for renovations
San Diego-based Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital received a $1 million donation from Price Philanthropies to renovate the Child and Adolescent mental health unit, according to San Diego Magazine.
