12 RCM service expansions

Here are 12 revenue cycle management service expansions involving healthcare vendors and providers implemented or announced in September:

1. OSG Billing Services, a provider of outsourced billing and statement services and customer communication management, acquired healthcare IT and business intelligence company AppRev and the billing and payments business of Diversified Data and Consulting. 

2. Cedar announced enhancements to its solution, Cedar Pay.

3. Dignity Health and technology startup Ooda Health, both based in San Francisco, are joining forces to improve payments between payers and providers.

4. VisitPay announced the launch of VisitPay 3.0, the latest version of its platform.

5. Change Healthcare and Amazon are teaming up on a new cloud-based claims and payments network for payers and providers.

6. FAIR Health, a national organization focused on healthcare cost transparency, launched an expanded Spanish language website, Fairhealthconsumidor.org. 

7. Revenue cycle technology companies Waystar and Connance are combining operations to expand their offerings for the healthcare industry.

8. Fellow Health Partners, a provider of medical business solutions, acquired medical billing company Physicians Management.

9. TransUnion Healthcare, part of credit and information management company TransUnion, is supporting the efforts of RIP Medical Debt, a charity that buys and forgives medical debt for patients.

10. Jamestown (Tenn.) Regional Medical Center chose Evident to provide its EHR services and TruBridge for revenue cycle management and cloud hosting.

11. Boston-based private equity firm Riverside Partners is aligning its revenue cycle companies, Bottom Line Systems and Medical Reimbursements of America.

12. Access Healthcare in Dallas acquired Noida, India-based Pacific BPO.
