York WellSpan Cancer Center announces $45M expansion

York (Pa.) WellSpan Cancer Center will expand by 67,100 square feet as part of a $45 million project that will consolidate services from several buildings into a central location, according to the York Dispatch.

In addition to medical services such as radiation oncology, holistic care options such as massage therapy, yoga, classroom space for support groups and a personal appearance boutique will be offered.

"What we're trying to do is take a complex and scary journey through cancer treatment and simplify it for our patients," said Douglas Arbittier, MD, vice president of oncology and surgical services at  WellSpan Health.

Construction will begin in late summer or early fall and is expected to be complete by early 2021.
