Roper St. Francis Healthcare, MUSC to partner on 43-bed rehab hospital

Charleston, S.C.-based Roper St. Francis Healthcare will partner with the Medical University of South Carolina, also in Charleston, to build a freestanding rehabilitation hospital on the campus of the future Roper St. Francis Berkeley Hospital, according to ABC News 4.

The 43-bed hospital will be  in Monck's Corner, S.C., and serve the growing healthcare needs of Berkeley and Dorchester counties. The two organizations have previously partnered on rehabilitation beds in Charleston.

"Healthcare systems across the country are finding new ways to come together to improve the health and well-being of the communities they serve, and working collaboratively on this future rehab hospital with MUSC is both a wise investment of our funds and an important step in making rehab more accessible to the community," said Lorraine Lutton, president and CEO of Roper St. Francis Healthcare.
