Piedmont hospital to build medically-integrated wellness center in neighboring community

Alia Paavola -

Fayetteville, Ga.-based Piedmont Fayette Hospital will build a medically-integrated wellness center at Pinewood Forrest, a Fayetteville-based planned community.

The 60,000-square-foot, two-story wellness center will have a six-lane pool, multiple fitness studios and a sports training area. Additionally it will feature 15 miles of integrated trail and path systems throughout the community.

"A wellness center is different from a gym or a fitness center because it offers programs that are tracked and overseen by medical professionals," said Michael Burnett, Piedmont Fayette's CEO. "The environment offers clinical integration so that physical therapists and exercise physiologists share common space."

Memberships to Piedmont Fayette Wellness Center at Pinewood Forrest will be open to the public and outpatient rehab and healthcare services will be available by appointment.
