Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic Health System started a $65 million expansion of its Mankato, Minn. hospital's surgical suite, according to a Mankato Free Press report.
Here are four things to know.
1. The upgrade began Dec. 6. It is part of an effort to establish a major regional health campus.
2. The expansion will comprise 14 operating rooms, a new sterilization department, 43 pre- and post-operative rooms, an interventional pain medicine procedure room and a gastrointestinal endoscopy center, the report states.
3. Construction on the surgical suites and GI endoscopy center is slated to reach completion by late next year.
4. Mayo Clinic will begin a campaign next year to support more improvements and expansions at its Mankato campus, according to the report.
