Kaiser to open medical center in Maryland

Morgan Haefner -

Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente plans to open a medical center in Bowie, Md., the health system said Sept. 7.

The 45,558-square-foot medical center will house primary care, behavioral health, optometry, pharmacy, lab and imaging services.

Slated to open in 2020, the medical center is the fifth location Kaiser has opened in Prince George's County, Md. Kaiser's health plan covers about 140,000 members in the Prince George County area.

The announcement comes on the heels of plans Kaiser recently revealed to open two medical centers in northern Virginia by mid-2019.
