JPS Health Network seeks $800M toward $1.2B in campus upgrades

Fort Worth, Texas-based Tarrant County Hospital District, which does business as JPS Health Network, is seeking voter approval for an $800 million bond proposal that would fund more than $1.2 billion in hospital upgrades, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

JPS Health is looking for funding to construct a $204 million psychiatric hospital, an improved patient tower with 676 beds, a cancer care center, four regional health centers and an ambulatory surgical center.

According to Tarrant County Commissioners, the $800 million proposal won't increase taxes for residents.

The proposal will appear on a Nov. 6 ballot for voter consideration.

If approved by voters, Tarrant County Commissioners say the bonds will be issued in several series over the next several years.
