7 hospitals planning facility upgrades, expansions

The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities. 

1. Vermont Hospital to begin $22M expansion after state approval
Brattleboro (Vt.) Memorial Hospital will begin a $22.7 million expansion project after Vermont regulators approved the proposal.

2. Rush Oak Park Hospital wins approval for $30M ER expansion
Rush Oak Park (Ill.) Hospital will begin a $30 million emergency room expansion after winning approval from the Oak Park village officials Oct. 2.

3. Phoenix Children's prepares to open new Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders
Phoenix Children's Hospital will open its new Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders later this month.

4. Cleveland Clinic, Select Medical JV opens Ohio rehabilitation hospital
Cleveland Clinic, through a joint venture with Mechanicsburg, Pa.-based Select Medical, opened 60-bed Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital, Beachwood (Ohio), Oct. 10.  

5. Spectrum Health opens cardiovascular training center
Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Spectrum Health opened a 2,700-square-foot cardiac simulation and education center Oct. 2.

6. Winner Regional Healthcare Center breaks ground on $23M hospital project
Winner (S.D.) Regional Healthcare Center broke ground on a $23 million hospital expansion Thursday.

7. Dayton Children's Hospital to construct mental health wing
Dayton (Ohio) Children's Hospital will construct a new pediatric mental health unit and a community health resource center.
