6 hospitals planning facility upgrades, expansions

The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities. 

1. WVU Medicine breaks ground on $150M children's tower
Morgantown, W.Va-based WVU Medicine broke ground June 4 on its $150 million children's facility. 

2. Williamson Medical Center seeks funding for $79M expansion
Franklin, Tenn.-based Williamson Medical Center is trying to secure a $45 million bond note to fund its $79 million expansion.

3. Carthage Area Hospital seeks $65M for replacement hospital, rural health center
Carthage (N.Y.) Area Hospital is seeking money to build a $65 million replacement hospital and attached rural health center.

4. Florida's Munroe Regional tries again, gets state OK for 66-bed hospital
Despite legal pushback from its rival and a court ruling denying its initial construction proposal, Ocala, Fla.-based Munroe Regional Medical Center's latest proposal for a 66-bed facility was approved by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration June 1.

5. Integris Health Edmond to double size with proposed expansion
Integris Health Edmond (Okla.) is moving forward with its plan to more than double the size of its hospital.

6. Trinity Medical Center West launches $75M expansion
Steubenville, Ohio-based Trinity Medical Center West will begin a $75 million expansion project the week of June 4.
