1. Allegheny Health Network approves system's first mini hospital
Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network approved the construction of the system's first mini hospital in Hempfield, Pa.

Lawrence (Kan.) Memorial Hospital plans to spend nearly $100 million on an expansion and renovation project.
3. Munson Healthcare begins $2.9M renovation
Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare is launching a $2.9 million renovation and construction project to its Grayling (Mich.) Hospital.
4. County OKs Marshfield Clinic's $35M hospital plan after Ascension Health conflict
Marshfield (Wis.) Clinic received approval from the Oneida County (Wis.) board of adjustment to build a 12-bed hospital in Minocqua, Wis., after contention from St. Louis, Mo.-based Ascension Health.
5. Los Angeles County hospital doubles ER beds in $12M project
Beverly Hospital in Montebello, Calif., held a groundbreaking ceremony for a $12 million emergency center expansion Wednesday.
6. Munroe Regional Medical Center plans $26M ED redesign
Munroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla., is planning a $26 million redesign to modernize and expand the emergency department.
7. Adventist Health purchases 15 acres of land for $8.98M
Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System bought 15 acres of land for $8.98 million, adjacent to a 67-acre site the health system purchased last year.
8. Ransom Memorial Hospital unveils $7M ER
Ransom Memorial Health in Ottawa, Kan., was set to open a 16,000-square-foot emergency department Tuesday.
9. New Mexico hospital completes EMS base in $38.1M project
Lincoln County Medical Center in Ruidoso, N.M., opened an EMS base, phase one of a project that will replace the existing 25-bed hospital.
10. Premier Health plans $12M emergency care center
Dayton, Ohio-based Premier Health is building a $12 million freestanding emergency care center in Miamisburg, Ohio.
11. Unity Medical Center plans $12M upgrade
Grafton, N.D.-based Unity Medical Center is planning a $12 million addition to its 60-year-old hospital.
12. UMC New Orleans opens $3.6M primary care facility
University Medical Center New Orleans is opening a primary care clinic on UMC's campus to alleviate emergency room use and improve patient access to direct care.
13. Tennessee hospital set to break ground on $5.1M expansion
Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tenn., held a groundbreaking ceremony Dec 5. for a $5.1 million expansion set to begin this month.
14. Riley Children's Health plans $142M maternity center
Indianapolis-based Riley Children's Health will construct a $142 million maternity and newborn health center.
15. Gouverneur Hospital opens new ER
Gouverneur (N.Y.) Hospital has opened its new emergency room, the first renovation of the space since 1987.
16. Acadia Healthcare partners with Pennsylvania hospital to build 144-bed psychiatric facility
Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare and Reading (Pa.) Hospital will partner to build a 144-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Berks County, Pa.
17. $1.1M ED proposal could fuel tension between HCA, Inova for Virginia healthcare space
Reston (Va.) Hospital Center is proposing a $1.1 million, two-story emergency department in Tysons, Va., fueling a conflict between competing health systems for hospital space in Virginia.
18. North Carolina hospital launches $8M ED
Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, N.C., completed an $8 million emergency department renovation that nearly doubles the hospital's capacity for emergency services.
