The University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville partnered with Apple to provide its patients with access to their health records via an iPhone app.

Apple's Health Records app will allow UT Medical Center patients to access their medical data, including immunizations, lab results, allergies and medications, among other records.

"Health Records on iPhone will help our patients by providing them quick and easy access to their health information by having it stored in one location right at their fingertips," said John C. Callison, MD, UT Medical Center CMIO, according to the news release.

UT Medical Center patients' health records were previously stored in multiple locations, which required patients to log into various care providers' websites to view their health data.
