Survey: 32% of patients perceive having access to EHRs as 'very important'

Jessica Kim Cohen -

The majority of patients indicate physicians' use of EHRs has had a positive (56 percent) or very positive (20 percent) impact on their health, according to a Select Hub report.

For the report, the technology selection management company surveyed 107 medical professionals — including administrators, medical practitioners and nurses, among others — who use EHRs and 1,007 U.S. consumers with access to EHRs about their attitudes toward the health IT solution.

Here's how patients responded when asked how important it is to have access to their EHR.

1. Very important: 32 percent

2. Moderately important: 32 percent

3. Somewhat important: 22 percent

4. Slightly important: 9 percent

5. Not at all important: 5 percent
