Salesforce expands EHR data tools for health cloud

Salesforce rolled out new updates to its Health Cloud platform aimed at improving EHR interoperability and virtual remote care, the company announced Aug. 9.

The company is adding remote patient exception monitoring for the cloud platforms, which will surface data and insights from connected devices directly within a single dashboard to help providers and care coordinators create personalized connections with patients and better monitoring health conditions virtually.

Salesforce also unveiled a new appointment scheduling and management tool, the Health Cloud, that suggests appointments for patients, whether at home or in the office, to help reduce no-shows and time spent on calls with a scheduler.

The company's new medication management tool lets health systems, pharmacies and retail outlets oversee medication lists from any care access location. Salesforce also announced that its Maps, B2C Commerce and Salesforce Order Management platforms are HIPAA compliant, so patient health information gathered during in-home care visits is protected.
