Oracle looking to acquire EMR data company: Report

Oracle is reportedly in the running to acquire Veradigm, formerly Allscripts, according to a Nov. 10 report from Seeking Alpha.

Sources first told Axios that Oracle and McKesson — an organization specializing in pharmaceutical distribution, health IT, medical supplies and health management tools — are among the final contenders for the acquisition. Veradigm's current market capitalization is approximately $1 billion.

Veradigm announced in May that it was considering various strategic options, including a sale, acquisition or other business combination.

"The company cannot assure that its exploration will result in Veradigm pursuing a transaction or that any transaction, if pursued, will be completed on attractive terms, if at all," Veradigm stated in a May 28 press release. "Veradigm has not set a timetable for completion of the evaluation process and does not intend to disclose further developments unless and until it is determined that further disclosure is appropriate."

Both Oracle and McKesson declined to comment to Axios on the matter.
