Oracle Cerner to lay off some employees, bring others back to office

Oracle Cerner plans to lay off some employees and bring others back to the office full time, the Kansas City Business Journal reported.

The EHR vendor notified employees March 16 they were being laid off, according to the March 17 story, which cites social media reports and a recent Oracle securities filing that discusses a "restructuring plan" projected to save the company $927 million by the end of fiscal 2023.

Oracle Cerner has also told many employees they would have to return to the office at its remaining Kansas City, Mo., campus after working remotely for about three years, according to a separate March 17 story.

The number of employees affected by these moves was not disclosed. Oracle Cerner didn't respond to a request from Becker's for comment.
