Meditech is now offering its clients access to antimicrobial stewardship tools that integrate directly with the vendor's EHR systems.
The antimicrobial stewardship toolkit is able to identify and monitor patients' records who are on antibiotic therapy. Clinicians can receive alerts to notify important patient events, such as multi-drug resistant organisms identified and antibiotic de-escalations, to help manage prescribing practices.
The tools, which were developed by Meditech customers and staff clinicians, align with the Centers for Disease Control's Core Elements of Hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Programs.
The antimicrobial stewardship toolkit is the latest addition to Meditech's EHR tools collection. It joins toolkits for prescription drug monitoring programs, electronic prescribing for controlled substances and opioid risk. All Meditech's tools aim to help support clinicians' workflows.
