Meditech, Google Cloud partner: 3 things to know

Meditech announced Oct. 2 that it will be one of the first EHRs available through Google Cloud.

Three things to know:

1. The partnership will establish additional cost-effective EHR technologies for Meditech as a Service subscription, which is a monthly subscription to Meditech's web-based EHR Expanse.

2. By moving to Google Cloud, facilities that use Meditech will be able to increase security and help better avoid ransomware attacks.

"Whereas many of our customers today have finite resources dedicated to security, the public cloud can facilitate potentially hundreds of additional, deployable resources," said Scott Radner, vice president of advanced technology at Meditech, according to a news release.

3. Meditech will also develop native cloud products and application programming interfaces to use on Google Cloud.
